GURGAON GOES CAROLLING
Gurgaonwallahs got into the Christmas spirit in a jolly way recently, when they attended a musical evening – “Come India Sing A Christmas Carol” hosted by a music academy in Gurgaon. The show started with the entire audience singing the National Anthem. The audience sang along and swayed as children from various schools sang Christmas carols like Jingle Bells, Joy To The World, O Come All ye Faithful, Hark The Herald Angels Sing, etc. Guests of Honour included Major General R S Chand, Captain Rohit Bajaj and advocate Manoj George, among others.
A NOT-SO-SILENT NIGHT
It was a proud moment for eight-year old Rishaan Bhatnagar, when he sang Silent Night in German, followed by Aubrey Aloysius in English, making the audience join in. Aubrey, founder chairman of the academy, said, “Rishaan has been a piano and vocal student for three years now, and got selected to go to Vienna and sing with the Vienna Boys Choir.”
NEXT-GEN CAROLS
Aubrey’s wife Lorraine added, “Christmas is not just about decorations and Santa Claus. Christmas is about spreading the wholehearted spirit of peace, love, joy, giving and sharing generously.” Students of Shalom Hills International School and Pathways School. Gurgaon, also got on stage and enthralled the crowd with their next gen Christmas carols like Rocking Around The Christmas Tree and When Christmas Comes To Town. The chorus We Wish You A Merry Christmas echoed throughout the venue as everyone got up and sang, marking the end of the evening.
