A Musical Evening Heralding The Christmas Season”, on Wednesday 11th December 2013 at Epicentre Auditorium, Apparel House, Sector-44, Gurgaon.

The musical evening included performances by children and youth – members of our next generation, and citizens of India. It included performances by members of the community. Also participating actively were the expat community based in the national capital region. Participants expressed themselves in song, performances on the piano and various instruments and speeches. They sang carols and played Christmas music that they love. The event was organised to herald the Christmas season and the cheer and wholehearted spirit of giving and sharing generously that the season brings with it.

The event really heralded the Christmas season. The Epicentre Auditorium was packed with children and youth. Excited children aged 4 to 18 years sang and played around 20 Christmas Carols like Jingle Bells, Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer, Jolly Old Saint Nocholas, among many others. Lorraine Fiona Aloysius asked the children on stage what Christmas meant to them ad the answers were “Santaclaus”, “Decorations”, “Gifts”, “Presents”, etc. Lorraine then sang a special Christmas Carol “Christmas Isn’t Christmas Till It Happens In Your Heart” which reminded the children of the real meaning of Christmas – that Jesus the Savious was born to live in our hearts. This was followed by meaningful carols like “O Holy Night”, “What Child Is This”, Silent Night”, etc. The Scottish High International School had a 50 member choir singing many more christmas carols followed by the students of Blue Bells Model School doing a spectacular dance performance to a christmas medley.

This event was an invitation to all to participate by singing Christmas Carols and sharing the season’s spirit of love, joy and peace. As the Christmas Season approaches, Lorraine Music Academy & Lamp Trust have great plans to bring light to the city of Gurgaon, the National Capital Region of Delhi and across India through music. Most exciting is that we will light up the lives of little poor children as well by teaching them to sing.

This series of events forms a part of the ongoing National Patriotic ProjectCome India Sing Jana Gana Mana” that was launched on 15th August 2013, our Independence Day.

Aubrey Aloysius, founder of the Lorraine Music Academy and the LAMP Trust, and Chairman of the National Patriotic Project, says “Music is food for the soul. Good food and good exercise gives you good physical stability.
